In 1934, Morley Bedford began serving the expanding North Toronto community from the same location that we currently occupy. Under the guidance of Robert Crawford, Mr. Bedford’s nephew, Bedford Funeral Services grew to become one of the most trusted and progressive funeral providers in the city and one of the first to promote the concepts of pre-planning and personalized funeral services.
Today, Bedford continues to evolve its offerings in order to address the emerging needs of the community. Robert Crawford’s sons Alan and Philip and his grandson Jonathan represent the third and fourth generation to serve the community they are so familiar with.
Bedford Funeral Home
Since 1934, we have been conveniently located at 159 Eglinton Avenue West, just a few blocks off of Yonge Street. And, as an added convenience, funeral home parking spaces are augmented by a 300 car lot directly across the street in The North York Community Centre.
Lobby
Our beautiful lobby welcomes visitors with classic style and fine details. We have fully accessible entrances and our elevator is located conveniently off the lobby.
The Chapel
Seats 100 plus auxiliary seatings for an additional 50. Religious services for all denominations or secular services. State of the art Audio/Video equipment is available. Manual Casavant organ or electronic keyboard.
Beautifully Appointed Venues
Oak floors, fireplaces and comfortable, understated furnishings create an intimate environment that is more like the serenity of a private residence than the functionality of a facility. Our larger rooms can be partitioned off for a more intimate space.
Outdoor Terrace
For the comfort of our guests we offer access to an outdoor terrace which is situated off the Park Room overseeing Eglinton Park and North Toronto Community Centre.

Bedford has an elevator that services all three floors and kitchen facilities, which allow us to meet requests for catering.
